Pro Bono Volunteer Attorneys Needed for Undocumented Immigrant Youth

The Asian Pacific American Legal Center(APALC) seeks pro bono attorneys to assist at Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) clinics to help undocumented immigrant youth apply for deferred action.

Requirements:

Attend an APALC deferred action training (September 4 from 5-7 p.m. or September 6 from 5-7 p.m. at APALC, with additional dates to be scheduled as necessary). MCLE credit of 1.5 hours and light refreshments will be provided. Volunteer at six clinics between September-December 2012 (at least one shift per clinic). Please see schedule below. Bilingual in Asian languages or Spanish is helpful, but not required.

Clinic Schedule

Clinics will be held from 2:30-7 p.m. at APALC’s Community Room, 1145 Wilshire Blvd., 2nd Floor, Los Angeles, CA  90017 on the following dates:

September 10, 18, 20, 27

October 2, 8, 16, 18, 30

November 1, 6, 8, 15, 20

December 4, 6, 13, 18, 20

Available shifts are 2:30-4, 4-5:30, or 5:30-7 p.m.
