Dear Friends,
I was thrilled to hear that PABA’s Board of Governors has voted to endorse Rob Bonta for the California Assembly. Having known Rob since he was a child growing up in the Sacramento living rooms and backyards of community activists like his parents, I know that he will make PABA, and all of us in the Filipino-American community, proud. I am not alone in that belief.
If you take some time to review the Rob Bonta for California Assembly website (www.robbonta.com), you will find that Rob is a candidate that everyone in the API community can, and should, support. He is the Vice Mayor of Alameda, a former semi-pro soccer player, a Yale Law graduate, a dedicated family man, and a Deputy City Attorney for the City and County of San Francisco. He has a great chance at becoming the first Filipino-American member of the California Legislature.
In order for Rob to make it to the Assembly, he needs our support. Rob’s next fundraising event is on April 5, 2012 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Bonaventure Hotel. I am co-sponsoring the event with former Speaker of the Assembly Robert Hertzberg, Cerritos City Council Member Mark Pulido, Los Angeles City Council Member Eric Garcetti, James Toma, Ben Nate, Shana Waterman, Ron Wong, and PABA.
I urge you to become involved in supporting Rob by attending this event and spreading the word about Rob to your colleagues, friends and family.
