Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Place: Los Angeles City College – exact location TBA
We are seeking attorneys and students as volunteers for the event. There will be a training session that is mandatory for any non-immigration attorney to attend. The date of the training session is yet to be scheduled, but should be some time in early November. The training will teach volunteers about the citizenship process, how to fill out the N-400 naturalization application and related waivers, and about the workshop model that will taking place the day of the event. Volunteers can assist with all parts of the workshop, except for legal review which will be reserved only for immigration attorneys who can review an application for completion and consult with applicants on whether they can still apply for citizenship even if any reg flags arise while filling out the application. The training should be about 1 to 1.5 hours.
This is a great opportunity to not only serve the Filipino community, but to also garner experience in the naturalization requirements and process.
If interested in volunteering, please contact Allison Aquino at aaquino@aquinolaw.net or (626) 799-3089.
